Approximately seven years ago, Axiem International became partners with the Shanta Foundation.

Since 2006, Shanta has partnered with rural villages in Myanmar to improve the lives of the residents. They do this through multi-year partnerships to build thriving communities through sustainable programs in health, education, leadership, women’s empowerment, and infrastructure. The Shanta Foundation is different from most initiatives in Myanmar. Shanta’s focus on long term success and goals creates sustainable change and projects that can be expanded by villagers. By training local leadership, Shanta mobilizes communities to develop independently.
