The Ideal Candidate will have experience working with vendors and internal NPI engineering team in a manufacturing environment. You will have experience working in a manufacturing environment dealing with vendor procurement and supporting a global supply chain. You will have the ability to work with our engineering team to identify parts, components, and assemblies that could result in lower manufacturing cost.



  • Clear cross-functional communication and engagement between Engineering, GCLs, Contact Manufacturers, Suppliers and other groups as required.
  • Drive efficiency in the NPI design process by providing Engineering support in the following areas.
  • To implement cost reduction activities in a variety of complex subsystem components.
  • Provide NPI support for new components.  Including, evaluating engineering requirements and selecting potential suppliers, manufacturers and/or OEMs.
  • Identify alternate sources of supply for existing components.
  • Obtain initial production cost quotes for components used in new products.
  • Obtain prototype quantity cost quotes for new turbine electrical system components, including PCBA related items.
  • Track bill of material costs for engineering to help achieve system level product cost requirements.
  • Contact suppliers to negotiate cost reductions based on existing quotes.
  • Act as the interface between engineering and suppliers.
  • Interface with global factories to obtain quotes for NPI related activities.
  • Prepare presentations for quarterly Disruptive Cost Out internal meetings.
  • Review, compare and address global component costs disparities to ensure similar pricing for similar items between global factories.
  • Maintain approved vendor lists on new and existing programs.
  • Drive efficiency in the NPI manufacturing process by providing Global Commodity Lead support in the following ways.
  • Assist production factories for component related, line down issues and bill of material changes.
  • Ensure global CMs procure the agreed upon volume allocations set by the GCL.
  • Verify appropriate MNDAs are in place and if required, work with new suppliers to get them approved within the system.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Engineering or technical degree from an accredited university or college (or at least 4 years of experience in Supply Chain, Business and/or Account Management).
  • Minimum of 2 additional years of experience in a Vendor Sourcing role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence others and work with peer teams
  • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact and coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • GE, Alstom, or ABB Experience, a plus
