Renewable Energy Product Safety Engineer

The ideal candidate for this position will be an engineer with experience in an industrial, manufacturing or energy facility performing Product Safety Engineering. The successful candidate will need to have the ability to not only be detailed oriented, but comfortable facilitating and presenting information to engineering and cross functional teams, while recording and tracking all parties’ feedback.


  • Drive resolution of field safety issues, which includes facilitation and documentation of meetings for cross functional teams.
  • Facilitate quantitative risk modeling (i.e. siting assessments)
  • Review field instructions and provide comments from the safety standpoint
  • Updating and maintaining product safety analysis records and metric reports.
  • Supporting other Product Safety Engineer(s) to identify and assess risk mitigation measures that assure tolerable risk level is achieved.
  • Facilitating proactive product safety reviews in support of both new product introduction and existing product fulfillment activities.
  • Leading safety risk assessment audits for Renewable Energy for both new product orders and field modifications.
  • Creating process improvements to streamline overall process and ensure timely closure to meet customer deliverables.
  • Supporting investigation of field safety incidents; assist root cause analysis by working with cross-functional teams.  Perform incident risk modeling on complex systems to assess design safety risk.
  • Researching safety related information on equipment and processes.



  • B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, and/or Safety Engineering)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and able to work within a team environment.  Must have ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment.
  • Diligent record keeping, acute attention to detail (proof-reading, creation / maintenance of permanent safety records)



  • Experience with Wind Turbine Power Generation highly desirable.
