Prototype Test Engineer

The Ideal Candidate for this position will be an engineer familiar with testing procedures such as test requests and documentation. The successful candidate will be able to review Bill of Materials and have the experience and focus to find deviations on as-built products from their BOM. While part of the job requires hands-on functions, you will need to have excellent organizational skills, which include documentation transferring along with file and database updating.

This position requires testing of mechanical parts: Electronic or Circuit Board Testing candidates will NOT be considered.

Specific activities:
• Write and submit test requests to lab for tests such as temperature rise, endurance, and overload.
• Develop a test plan for evaluating parts/materials involved in supplier change as well as product performance.
• Run basic testing as applicable.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of failures
• Resubmit tests as required.
• Review with lead engineers to confirm completeness.
• Establish resolution plans and implement.
• Review and correct documentation as needed – modify drawings and BOM as required.
• The ability to read drawings.
• Have a high level of mechanical aptitude with experience assembling parts and sub-assemblies into finish products ready for testing and documentation.

• Unlimited Access to work within the United States.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Testing: experience writing and reviewing test requests and results
• Prototypes: experience with assembling and building product prototypes.
• Engineering Changes: Experience with ECO and ECR processes.
• Minimum 3 years of Industrial experience
• Self-starter, independent worker, able to work hands-on at time and still create detailed reports as needed.
• Proven troubleshooting skills

• Knowledge of breakers and other control products such as contacts and relays
• UL Lab Test experience – Metallurgical or Electrical
• Some Creo Design experience a plus, but no required for this position.
